WEEK SEISMICITY REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 4, 2023 TO SEPTEMBER 10, 2023

During the week of September 4, 2023, the Alaska Earthquake Center reported 838 earthquakes within the state. The largest earthquake was magnitude 4.9 that occurred on September 10 at 05:03:56 AKDT (September 10, 13:03:56 UTC), 73 miles S of Sand Point.

Other significants events include a magnitude 4.2 earthquake that occurred 34 miles SE of Kantishna on September 8, 2023 08:27:21 AKDT, and a magnitude 3.4 earthquake that occurred 13 miles NW of Delta Junction on September 6, 2023 07:49:18 AKDT.

There was a swarm of 24 earthquakes in the Brooks range east of station E19K. They ranged in magnitude from 1.2 to 2.4.

There were 8 glacial quakes recorded near Prince William Sound region, the Wrangell-Saint Elias Mountains,  and Yakutat Bay.

4 events were reported as felt.
