Michelle is a seismologist student assistant, with a focus on public outreach. After earning an MBA and MSOL on the east coast, she moved to Alaska to pursue a B.S. in Geology at UAF. She will be graduating in the Spring of 2022. While studying at UAF, Michelle has been a researcher for an URSA project, studying plutons along the Denali Fault. In the summer of 2021, her field work involved mapping the shear zone of the Clearwater Mountains in the Alaska Range, with EDMAP funding through the USGS. She has worked at both hard rock and placer gold mines in Alaska. When not involved with work or school, Michelle enjoys fishing, hiking, traveling, watching football (TB12), and getting stoked on rocks.
