2011 M5.2 Kantishna Earthquake

A shallow M5.2 earthquake occurred in the northern section of the highly seismically active Kantishna Cluster in central Alaska on January 23, 2011. This was the largest event in the cluster since a M5.2 earthquake on December 8, 1984.

This event was felt widely in the Interior with the strongest shaking reported in Cantwell, Clear and Talkeetna.

This event was located within the Denali National Park boundaries.
