ANM is the nearest seismic station to Nome, about four miles north of town near the old Anvil Mountain White Alice communications site. There has been a seismic site on this hill nearly continuously since 1976, operated by different agencies under different station names. The Alaska Earthquake Center upgraded this site in 2010 with modern instrumentation. This site is generously hosted by our partners at Sitnasuak Native Corporation.
