PS12 is located at Pump Station #12 of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. This site is off the Richardson Highway, tucked into a narrow valley in the Chugach Mountains, near the Little Tonsina River. This site is part of a long-standing monitoring system for the pipeline. The Earthquake Center operates this system in conjunction with the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company.
