WEEKLY SEISMICITY REPORT FOR JUNE 10, 2024 TO JUNE 16, 2024
During the week of June 10, 2024, the Alaska Earthquake Center reported 770 earthquakes within the state.
The largest earthquake, a magnitude 4.6, occurred on June 13 at 05:49:11 AKDT (June 13, 13:49:11 UTC), 28 miles S of Mt. Martin. It was not reported as felt.
Notably, the series of aftershocks from last week's magnitude 4.4 earthquake near Kantishna continues with 36 recorded events.
This week, there was one felt event, a magnitude 3.3, 27 miles north of Anchorage. It was predominantly felt in Anchorage, Wasilla, and Eagle River.
Furthermore, there were 10 glacial events recorded, primarily in the Prince William Sound and Yakutat Bay areas. The Alaska Earthquake Center also reported 7 explosive events in the Fort Knox Mine area.
