N19K sits on a plateau below the main peak, with the National Park Service repeater hut at the apex of the hill. Surrounded by Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, this site rests on the foothills southwest of the Alaska Range. On one visit, the field team reported the "Hut was on a wind scoured hill and was mostly free of snow." The site was acquired in 2019 under dedicated support from our partners at the U.S. Geological Survey to strengthen earthquake monitoring across southern Alaska. The site was originally installed as part of the USArray project. N19K is generously hosted by our partners at the Alaska Department of Natural Resources.
