WRH is on a hill above the Wood River, about 25 miles southwest of Fairbanks. The station was installed in 1983 and upgraded with digital broadband equipment in 2009. In 2018 the vault was replaced with a USArray-style borehole and new sensor. It communicates with our lab using a radio shot directly to the Geophysical Institute roof.
