2020 M7.8 Simeonof Earthquake and M7.6 aftershock

Both the M7.8 Simeonof mainshock and M7.6 aftershock events were felt widely across the Alaska Peninsula and the Kenai Peninsula. The mainshock was felt as far north as Fairbanks, and as far away as Victoria and Vancouver, British Columbia.

The most up-to-date felt report information can be found on the M7.8 or M7.6 USGS web pages.

There were reports of road and dock damage in Sand Point, a community 88 miles from the mainshock epicenter.

We will update this page as the sequence unfolds.
