Elisabeth is passionate about communicating science. She coordinates the communication activities of the Earthquake Center, which include science stories, on-site visits, social media, community outreach, K–12 science programs, and more. Elisabeth is trained in both geosciences and science communication, with a PhD in geology from Caltech and a master's in science writing from UC Santa Cruz. She has worked as a science writer for media relations, professor in geosciences at UAF for 13 years, and co-director for the EarthScope National Office. Elisabeth enjoys wilderness exploration, music, and cooking.
