HIN was installed on Hinchinbrook Island in Prince William Sound in 1974. A broadband sensor was installed in 2010 as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act-funded upgrade to the Advanced National Seismic System. In 2018 the vault was replaced with a USArray-style borehole and new sensor. This site is generously hosted by our partners at the USDA Forest Service.
