Ayumi is a Seismic Data Analyst for the Alaska Earthquake Center. She has a M.S. in Geophysics from Tohoku University in Japan. Her primary duties are locating earthquakes in Alaska and determining their magnitudes by identifying P and S waves arrivals and contributing to weekly seismicity reports for use by the general public, researchers, and state and federal agencies. Outside of work, she enjoys the life in Alaska with her husband and two kids, and loves chasing aurora as a photographer.
