Shah Khan
Seismic Data Analyst

Shah is a Seismic Data Analyst for the Alaska Earthquake Center. He has an M.S. in Structure Geology/Neotectonics and an M.S. in Geography (GIS and Remote Sensing). His primary duties include locating earthquakes in Alaska; calculating their magnitudes using P and S wave arrivals; and contributing to weekly seismicity reports for use by researchers, state and federal agencies, and the public. When not working, Shah enjoys spending time with his family, going on long roadtrips, hiking, and trekking.
