Seismic stations are expected to transmit data for months in the Alaskan elements before receiving maintenance, so it is important for these stations to withstand wind, rain, snow, and BEARS! There are around 140,000 brown and black bears roaming around Alaska. Hank the Tank is employed by the Alaska Earthquake Center to test the strength of our sites to ensure they will last throughout the seasons. Click to view Hank the Tank's work.
