I23K is located near the Minto Al Wright Airport in the community of Minto. The Minto Flats State Game Refuge is near the community. The Alaska Village Electric Cooperative supplies the main power for this station through utilities serving the airport infrastructure. Trimming brush to keep the solar panels and satellite dish clear is a regular maintenance task. This station was acquired in 2019 under dedicated support from our partners at the U.S. Geological Survey to strengthen earthquake monitoring across southern Alaska. The site was originally installed as part of the USArray project. I23K is generously hosted by our partners at the Minto Village Council.
