ATKA, located on the hill between the island’s Old Town and New Town, is the Earthquake Center’s westernmost and southernmost station. The broadband and strong motion sensors are coupled to bedrock in an IRIS-designed sealed seismic vault. This substantial upgrade was completed in 2013 with critical assistance from the City of Atka. We acquire data from ATKA over an internet connection provided by the Atka Village Clinic. This site is generously hosted by our partners at Atxam Corporation.
