Situated in in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve, BCP overlooks Disenchantment Bay, about 30 miles north of Yakutat. The station was originally installed in 1979 and then modernized in 2011 as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act-funded upgrade to the Advanced National Seismic System. It was upgraded with a USArray-style borehole and new sensor in 2018. Wildlife is a challenge: It is one of the buggiest sites and also prone to bear damage. This site is generously hosted by our partners at the National Park Service.
