M19K is generously hosted by a private landowner. Located in the foothills of the Alaska Range, this station sits in a clearing within boreal forest near the Middle River. This station uses the Big River Lodge's power in the summer, but lodge generators are not in use during the winter. The site was acquired in 2019 under dedicated support from our partners at the U.S. Geological Survey to strengthen earthquake monitoring across southern Alaska. The site was originally installed as part of the USArray project.
