PS08 is located at Pump Station #8 of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. This site is off the Richardson Highway past Eielson Air Force Base, near the community of Salcha. It sits in the relatively flat Tanana River valley in the Yukon-Tanana Uplands. PS08 is part of a long-standing monitoring system for the pipeline. The Earthquake Center operates this system in conjunction with the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company.
