SKN is 70 miles NW of Anchorage, near Skwentna and just east of Shell Lake. It was installed in 1972 and upgraded with digital broadband equipment in 2006. In 2015 it was upgraded with a 9-foot borehole and new sensor with support from the USArray project. This site is generously hosted by our partners at the Alaska Department of Natural Resources.
