Ethan Berkeland
Field Engineer
As a Field Engineer, Ethan spends his summers traveling throughout Alaska to maintain the field stations that make up the Earthquake Center’s network. In the winter, he monitors the health of these stations as well as prepares for the next season of field work. Ethan obtained his B.S. in Geological Engineering at UAF and comes from a background in hard-rock mineral exploration. When not at work, Ethan is an obsessive climber who can be found climbing big walls in Yosemite, alpine faces in the Alaska Range, or simply enjoying the roadside rock and ice across Alaska.
