WEEKLY SEISMICITY REPORT FOR FEBRUARY 17, 2025 TO FEBRUARY 23, 2025

During the week of February 17, 2025, the Alaska Earthquake Center reported 692 earthquakes across the state. The largest earthquake was a magnitude 4.9 event that occurred on February 20 at 22:07:08 AKDT (February 21, 07:07:08 UTC), located 31 miles south of Davidof Island. This event was not reported as felt.

Notably, a magnitude 4.7 earthquake occurred on February 18 at 22:09:50 AKST, approximately 13 miles southwest of Perryville. This event received 24 felt reports, with most reports coming from Sand Point. It was also felt in Chignik and King Cove.

Seismic activity southwest of Wales continued this week, with six recorded events in the region.

Additionally, the Alaska Earthquake Center recorded three ice quakes and two mining events. In total, there were four felt events reported throughout the week.
