WEEK SEISMICITY REPORT FOR JUNE 16, 2025 TO JUNE 22, 2025

During the week of June 16, 2025, the Alaska Earthquake Center reported 371 earthquakes within the state. The largest earthquake was magnitude 4.4 that occurred on June 17 at 04:38:29 AKDT (June 17, 12:38:29 UTC), 64 miles S of Buldir Island in the western Aleutians. 

There were 3 felt events this week. The first was a magnitude 3.8 earthquake that occurred on June 16 at 07:19:50 AKDT, 35 miles SW of Sand Point. This event was reported as felt in Sand Point and King Cove. 

Next was a relatively small but well-reported felt earthquake in south-central, a magnitude 3.4 that occurred on June 17 at 11:13:36 AKDT, 35 miles SE of Sutton. This event was reported as felt in Anchorage, Chugiak, and Palmer. 

The last felt event was in the interior, a magnitude 3.7 earthquake that occurred on June 17 at 21:18:17 AKDT, 30 miles SW of Cantwell. This event was report as felt in Denali Park as well as Cantwell. 

There were only 3 ice quakes recorded this week, with 2 occurring in the Prince William Sound and 1 occurring in the Yakutat area.
