WEEK SEISMICITY REPORT FOR JULY 18, 2022 TO JULY 24, 2022

During the week of July 18, 2022, the Alaska Earthquake Center reported 782 earthquakes within the state. The largest earthquake was magnitude 4.4 that occurred on July 19 at 18:11:26 AKST (July 20, 02:11:26 UTC), 21 miles SE of Semisopochnoi Island. All other events greater than M 3.5 occurred along the subduction zone, except for a M 4.1 15 miles N of Larsen Bay, and a M 3.8 29 miles NW of Port Lions. Areas of ongoing seismicity include  the Purcell Mountains swarm, Kaktovic, offshore Kodiak, and Simeonof-Chignik zones. There were 4 icequakes recorded near Prince William Sound and Icy Bay area.  One event was reported as felt.
