WEEK SEISMICITY REPORT FOR NOVEMBER 20, 2023 TO NOVEMBER 26, 2023

During the week of November 20, 2023, the Alaska Earthquake Center reported 726 earthquakes within the state. The largest earthquake was magnitude 4.5 that occurred on November 24 at 08:05:54 AKST (November 24, 17:05:54 UTC), 70 miles S of Chagulak Island.

Some of the significant events include a magnitude 4.4 earthquake that occurred 160 miles SE of Kodiak on November 24, 2023 04:56:01 AKST, this event was followed by 11 aftershocks with magnitude ranging from 3.0-3.5, a magnitude 4.3 earthquake that occurred 13 miles W of Amchitka on November 22, 2023 04:00:43 AKST, and a magnitude 3.7 earthquake that occurred 73 miles SE of Yakutat on November 20, 2023 12:27:04 AKST, this event was followed by 6 aftershocks with magnitude ranging from 2.0 to 3.3.

There were 12 icequakes recorded in Prince William Sound region, Icy Bay and Yakutat Bay.  

There were no felt reports during this week.
