WEEK SEISMICITY REPORT FOR OCTOBER 30, 2023 TO NOVEMBER 5, 2023

During the week of October 30, 2023, the Alaska Earthquake Center reported 783 earthquakes within the state. The largest earthquake was magnitude 5.1 that occurred on November 5 at 04:27:27 AKST (November 5, 13:27:27 UTC), 28 miles W of Amchitka.

Some of the significant events include a magnitude 5.0 earthquake that occurred 32 miles S of Seguam Island on November 2, 2023 22:47:28 AKDT, this event was reported as felt in Atka, a magnitude 4.0 earthquake that occurred 18 miles SE of Tyonek on October 31, 2023 15:12:35 AKDT, and a magnitude 3.1 earthquake that occurred 39 miles E of Sutton on October 31, 2023 23:43:44 AKDT, these events were reported as felt in south central Alaska.

There were 39 icequakes recorded in the Prince William Sound region, Icy Bay and Yakutat Bay.
