WEEK SEISMICITY REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 25, 2023 TO OCTOBER 1, 2023

During the week of September 25, 2023, the Alaska Earthquake Center reported 884 earthquakes within the state. The largest earthquake was magnitude 4.8 that occurred on September 27 at 01:51:05 AKDT (September 27, 09:51:05 UTC), 49 miles E of St. George.

Other significant events include a magnitude 4.0 earthquake that occurred 110 miles SW of Point Hope on September 24, 2023 21:27:16 AKDT and a magnitude 3.6 earthquake that occurred 38 miles W of Klukwan on September 30, 2023 23:22:35 AKDT.

There were 27 icequakes recorded near Prince William Sound, Icy Bay, Yakutat Bay, and Wright Glacier.

4 events were reported as felt.
