WEEK SEISMICITY REPORT FOR AUGUST 7, 2023 TO AUGUST 13, 2023

During the week of August 7, 2023, the Alaska Earthquake Center reported 896 earthquakes within the state. The largest earthquake was magnitude 3.9 that occurred on August 12 at 22:21:18 AKDT (August 13, 06:21:18 UTC), 31 miles S of Nikolski.

Other significant events include a magnitude 3.7 earthquake that occurred 41 miles N of Talkeetna on August 11, 2023 00:20:08 AKDT, and a magnitude 3.5 earthquake that occurred 5 miles SE of Ninilchik on August 10, 2023 06:24:07 AKDT, this event was reported as felt in south-central Alaska.

There were 27 icequakes recorded near Mt.Spurr and Prince William Sound region.

Two events were reported as felt.
