WEEK SEISMICITY REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 2, 2024 TO SEPTEMBER 8, 2024

During the week of September 2, 2024, the Alaska Earthquake Center reported 737 earthquakes within the state. The largest earthquake was magnitude 4.3 that occurred on September 6 at 09:16:15 AKDT (September 6, 17:16:15 UTC), 45 miles SE of Atka.

We only received one felt report in this week - a magnitude 3.1 earthquake was felt in Anchorage, Eagle River, Chugiak and surrounding areas with 17 reports on September 4, 2024 at 17:46:36 AKDT.

The swarm activity N of Icy Bay recorded 11 events during this week, ranging in magnitude from 1.1 to 2.2.

There were 21 icequakes detected in the Prince William Sound, Icy Bay and SE Alaska, including 3 events from Brady glacier ranging in magnitude from 2.2 to 2.4.
